I joined AMC as an Account Executive shortly after graduating with a Biomedicine degree. From Day 1, I was given the opportunity to get stuck into a variety of client accounts and, with a lot of on-the-job training and a supportive team, I quickly learnt about the numerous roles of a med comms agency and was gradually able to take on more responsibilities. I had the flexibility to get involved in both project management and writing and soon realised that I was better suited to a writing role. I am currently a Medical Writer and, even after being at AMC for 3 years, I still have many opportunities to develop new skills and get involved in new projects!
After finishing a degree in Biomedical Science and not knowing what career paths were available to me, I fell into Medical Communications. Starting as an Intern Account Executive, I had immediate exposure to various projects and opportunities, where the friendly and supportive team at AMC have helped shape my understanding of the medical communication world. A day has never been the same as the one before due to the vast reach of an agency. After completing my internship, I was drawn to Client Services, where I have quickly progressed into my current role of Senior Account Executive where AMC gives me the freedom/chance to now focus on the management of new projects and their deliverables in varying therapy areas whilst helping build and maintain client relationships. The passionate and sociable team have been crucial to my development here at AMC and I look forward to the progression I can make in the future.
As a graduate intern at Ashley Medical Communications, I was exposed to a wide variety of tasks, projects and clients from the start. This flexibility enabled me to decide which roles I preferred and where I was best suited within the company.
